About Us

Ritual Remains is the creative joining born out of a long term friendship and mutual love for the outdoors, with a passionate drive to replicate nature into metal form.

Both self taught and prolific creatives, Helen and Tavo came together to form Ritual Remains in 2016. At the time they both lived in Oakland and in the midst of many creative ventures found a shared love of metal jewelry making and a shared vision to create wearable art that mirrors the natural world.

Through thousands of hours and much trial and error their labor of love is evident in the attention to detail and creativity in their work. Each unique piece is hand crafted from start to finish. The jewelry most often starts from a sheet of metal, hand drawn designs are cut out with a saw, layered, hammered, textured, and soldered together creating a truly individual piece of wearable artwork with each finished product.

Helen now lives in South Lake Tahoe, CA. with her partner and two dogs. While she's not in her studio she's most likely hiking and exploring the grandeur of the Sierra, finding fresh inspiration with each new adventure. She has a deep passion for nature and feels most at home while exploring the wilderness.

Tavo lives in Oakland with their grouchy but lovable floof of a cat, Bat. Tavo can't help but create. They seldom find an art form they don't delve deep into, from painting to sculpture to lingerie design, and of course metal smithing. Growing up between the forest of Northern California and Desert of Southern California nature holds a special place in their heart.

Ritual Remains is a small company built of friendship, dedicated work and lots of love. They both are so joyful to share their passions with you. Through each piece of jewelry they share a piece of their heart, and our universal connection to nature.

“As long as I live, I'll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I'll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I'll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can". -John Muir
