The Wild Woods series has completely stolen my heart. I would say this piece was a labor of love but even the labor was filled with so my joy and wonderment. Figuring out each leaf and getting it into the exact flow with the ones surrounding was a meditation on oak trees, summer giving way to autumn, and my deep relationship with metal. The gold sheen obsidian stone reflects back the rich high shine brass.
Every part of this piece was completely hand fabricated from brass and sterling silver sheet metal and wire. Each leaf was hand cut from original drawings on brass sheet metal. They were then textured and formed to bring each one to life. The careful puzzle then began of where to place each leaf and how it would interact with the stone. Once it was fully soldered together it was carefully formed into a cuff bracelet shape. Another round of soldering was down to tack the leaves into their final place. Lastly many, many different polishing and finishing techniques were used to bring this unique bracelet to life.
The Wild Woods Oak Leaf bracelet measures 1 3/8" at its widest point and then tapers to 3/4" at the ends.
The bracelet has a total length of 6" and will fit most wrists.
Finished to a high shine polish.
