No part of this heirloom-quality pendant is cast. Each element is created entirely by hand. The pendant started as sterling silver sheet metal and wire. Once the frame was created, the mountains and tree were cut out from original drawings on sheet metal using a hand held jewelers saw. After soldering the piece together, it was meticulously textured and detailed. The sky features tiny clouds made of 24k gold applied using an ancient technique called Keum Boo. Many rounds of trial and error went into achieving the colorful sunset patina. Once the patinas were applied, the pendant was highlighted and finished to a high shine polish.
